Use this guide to choose a weekend, identify which plans need tickets, and leave enough room for the beach or a slower morning at the house.

Late-summer plans move between beach time and village events. This atmospheric scene is not documentary coverage of a listed event; confirm current details with each organizer.

Start with the fixed plans

The calendar runs from August 23 through September 27, 2026, with the Hampton Classic, JazzFest, the Shinnecock Powwow, the Montauk Seafood Festival, the Sag Harbor Song Festival, HarborFest, and the Sag Harbor American Music Festival. Reserve fixed-seat performances first. Outdoor festivals leave more room for a flexible day, but schedules and weather plans can change.

Hours vary by day, with Monday scheduled to end at 6 p.m. The gathering is outdoors with limited shade, and free parking is listed.
Sept. 12–13 · noon–5 p.m.	Montauk Seafood Festival · Montauk Village Green	Admission is $5, cash only, with food and drinks purchased separately. No dogs are permitted under the tent. The organizer has not posted a rain date or rain policy.
Sept. 18–20	Sag Harbor Song Festival · The Church, 48 Madison Street	Friday and Saturday concerts run 6:30–8:30 p.m.; Sunday runs noon–2 p.m. Individual concerts are $75, or a three-concert Festival Pass is $200. Tickets are on sale.
Sept. 19–20	HarborFest and Fall Arts & Crafts Fair · Long Wharf and Marine Park, Sag Harbor	The Chamber lists the Fall Arts & Crafts Fair from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The complete HarborFest activity schedule is still forthcoming.
Sept. 24–27	Sag Harbor American Music Festival · village stages throughout Sag Harbor	Village performances are free except for the ticketed Raul Midón concert at Bay Street Theater on Friday at 8 p.m. The current headliner price is not posted; confirm it through the ticket link.

Choose by the kind of day you want

The Hampton Classic is the clearest full-day commitment. A quieter weekday visit gives a group more freedom, while the final Sunday requires reserved seating for the headline competitions. JazzFest and the Song Festival work the other way around: the performance is fixed, so meals, parking, and any beach time need to fit around it.

The Powwow deserves time rather than a quick pass through. The Shinnecock Nation describes four days of Native arts, crafts, food, dancing, and drums, with Grand Entry scheduled on multiple days. Montauk Seafood Festival, HarborFest, and the village performances during the American Music Festival are easier to approach as flexible daytime or early-evening plans.

Book the fixed-time events first

For Grand Prix Sunday at the Hampton Classic, confirm both reserved grandstand seating and parking before leaving the house. The other show days allow a lighter plan, but the official schedule should still decide when you arrive.

For the Sag Harbor Song Festival, choose between one concert and the full-weekend pass before arranging dinner. JazzFest also has an active registration path, although its public page does not list a price. During the American Music Festival, most village performances are free; the Friday Bay Street headliner is the ticketed exception.

Plan outdoor days around comfort and organizer rules

The Shinnecock Powwow takes place in an outdoor field with limited shade. The organizer recommends comfortable clothing and shoes, sunscreen, hats, umbrellas, blankets, and lawn or beach chairs. It is a drug- and alcohol-free gathering, and pets are not permitted except documented service animals.

Montauk Seafood Festival requires cash for admission and does not allow dogs under the tent. HarborFest has not released its full activity schedule, and neither event currently publishes a rain plan. Recheck the organizer page and forecast before setting out.

Use the Sag Harbor overlap carefully

The Song Festival and HarborFest share the same September weekend. Saturday's evening concert can follow a waterfront afternoon with a reasonable transition, while Sunday's midday performance competes directly with HarborFest programming. Put the ticketed concert on the calendar first, then decide how much of the waterfront program fits comfortably around it.

Trying to cover both events minute by minute is likely to create more walking and waiting than enjoyment. Choose one anchor, allow time to move through the village, and treat the rest as optional.

Keep the beach day separate from event logistics

Most of these events do not call for a full beach setup. Leave bulky gear at the house and keep the event-day car simple. If the weekend includes open beach hours, a stay-length set of chairs, shade, a cooler, and a wagon can be delivered to the property before the group arrives.
